My team won the 2014 NBA Championship on Father’s Day 2014! I was able to watch the game with my Dad in San Antonio and it was amazing to see them literally destroy the Miami Heat bringing to a close one of the most incredible seasons of any team in NBA history! Tim Duncan further established his Hall of Fame status by breaking records and setting new ones along with the rest of the team:
- Finished the regular season No. 1 in the NBA…and this was just the beginning
- Most playoff minutes by a trio: Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan – 150 games…Legacy?
- Most wins by a trio: Duncan, Parker, Ginobili: 117 wins!
- Tim Duncan surpassed Magic Johnson for Most Double Doubles in the postseason meaning he is now number 1!
- Tim Duncan surpassed Kareem Abdul Jabbar for most playoff minutes..and this was in Game 4!
- Shooting “Lights Out!” 91 percent after the first quarter of game 3 making 19 of 21 shots…wow!
- Number 1 Coach for all time playoff wins: Greg Popovich (Coach Pop)
- 12th post season win by 15 or more points…Most Ever!!
- Kawhi Leonard wins the MVP of the playoffs becoming the youngest player to win since Tim Duncan in 1999!
Truly amazing season! I love my Spurs and what an awesome and remarkable way to spend Father’s Day with my Dad! May the legends of my hometown team continue!
