The 4th album “The Burned Days” is out today (4-1-2017). Many thanks to Ritchard F. Napierkowski of the band The Nimbus for the amazing lyrics and vocals on the title track of the album. Thank you to my friends and family for all of your support. Thanks to my little studio helper Ghost. This album is dedicated to my Dad. Today is his 90th birthday and I love you very much. Thanks for getting me my first guitar so many years ago and starting this journey of music. “Creating Beats and Melody Through Sound” Jonathan aka Mindshift-1 Below are a few Read more »
My first show of the year was pretty amazing as I was able to open for my friends The Nimbus at a club called Scratchouse. It had been a while since I had performed out in a club and wound up designing the set a few days before the show. I played 10 tracks, both released and unreleased material, and was concerned about fitting them into my 40 minute timeslot. Turns out..when I got to the show…I totally forgot my set list at the house! Good thing I practiced the set several times before the show as I was able Read more »
Well here it is…2016 is about to end. It has truly been a beautiful and trying year this year. I have had many amazing experiences with some wonderful friends and family. I started the year off with one of my favorite electronic acts, Infected Mushroom, coming to town at Vulcan Gas company. It was a really great night as they always put on an awesome show and there is nothing that compares to an Infected Mushroom dance party! These guys are just awesome! I played a series of shows at a place called Tellers in downtown Austin with my Read more »
I was in a room that seemed familiar, yet there was no furniture in the room. The room itself appeared blurry or fuzzy, kind of how some “dream sequences” may be portrayed on TV or in a movie. As I glanced over to the right of the room, I noticed a really fast moving object that initially appeared as though it were a mouse. Sometimes I just wish things were different. Or maybe I sometimes wish I could go back in time, but that’s just because of how the past has contributed to the present. The past is the teacher of the ever present, yet the future is always changing. To embrace the past is to embrace the future…there is balance there…but where sometimes..
I decided to pickup a ticket to catch The Chainsmokers at Emo’s for their ACL Late Night Show this year as they were playing both weekends of ACL. I’m so glad I did as the show was sold out and was an all out dance party as they literally “smoked out” Emo’s that night! Below is the full set of pics from the show.
I’ve been a little behind lately in posting galleries of the shows I have been going to this year. Unfortunately, I have lost quite a bit of the images I took this past year, but here is a new gallery of the local Austin, Texas duo Tritonal when they played their homecoming set at Stubb’s BBQ last month. Needless to say it was a pretty epic dance party as they rocked the hometown crowd!
RIP Korg M3…you took me through many years of creativity and in one bright spark of electricity and smoke…you were gone. Here’s to meeting again soon in this life so the songs you were a part of that took me through so much can be performed again. I will have you again…soon.
Fun Fun Fun Fest was a blast this year! It was my first time going and I definitely am planning on going again!
“The Eye of the Storm” Powerful and complex, yet simple and always moving Once within…there is peace This song was the only track to be released as a single from the upcoming 2015 “Synthetic Emotions” album. The photo was shot by me and features Natalia.
